Steve Sklar, leading western performer and teacher of khoomei, or Tuvan Throat-Singing, performs with his group The Overtone Orchestra, opening for the great Tuvan band Huun-Huur-Tu. Members for this date include Johnna Morrow (Big Sky lead singer), flutes, vocals, percussion, didgeridoo; Steve Lazarski, didgeridoo; John Pascuzzi, didgeridoo, new, cool Swiss instrument, the hang, and igil; Steve Sklar, vocals, throat-singing, didgeridoo, percussion. This will be the MN debut of the Hang, a fantastic and exciting new instrument!

This transformance will be an unforgettable sonic journey integrating the deepest of ecological values. On a candlelit stage we will transform a former place of war to ecological sound and word. This Organic World Acoustic concert is a fundraiser for the Green Music Network - a national database supporting the connection of nonprofit organizations with musicians for mutual benefit.
The Overtone Orchestra performs original music with an emphasis on harmonics/overtones. We combine numerous world music influences, from Australia (didgeridoos) to central Asia (Tuvan Throat-Singing) to Tibet (Thupten Dadak is a former Gyuto monk) to the Americas and beyond...
